Nobody knows where he was buried and a lot of speculations are told about his tomb place. Rumi and Shams began the lessons again but Shams was disappeared one night in 1247 and it was believed that he died. Rumi's son, Sultan Valad, left Konya looking for Rumi and seven months after he found Shams and brought him back to Konya. After a long time education and training Shams disappeared. Rumi and Tabrizi isolated themselves by talking and reading the mystic poems to train Mevlana. Rumi burned all his books as soon as he saw Sahms and became his student right away.
When Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi and Shams-i Tabrizi met in Konya for the fisrt time, it was a great moment when two oceans joined. He was looking for someone to become close friend so he was told to meet with Rumi in Konya.
He was educated in Tabriz first and he wanted to travel seeing the various countries and meeting new scholars & sufis. Shams-i Tabrizi was born in Tabriz in Iran today as part of the Azerbaijan in that time. Shams-i Tabrizi mosque & tomb, One of the well-known sufis in muslim world who made a great effort to train Rumi in a spirutal way & method in 13th century, is located in the center of Konya city of which millions of his lovers pay a visit and pray to him after visiting Rumi & Mevlevi main lodge center.
